A good interview involves being prepared for any questions that the interviewer may have, make sure that the candidate has their CV and any other documents stated on the application, are with you in a folder set in different section so they are easy to find. The candidate will also need their art portfolio to present to the interviewer as that is what they are most looking forward to see.
The interviewer expects the candidates appearance to be immaculate, nicely dressed in appropriate clothes and not original street clothes as you would a normal day. The candidate needs to look fresh and not dirty. making sure they arrive on time, and calling up the interviewer if they are going to be late, as they are going to think your not turning up if you don't let them know.
Sitting up right on the chair is one of the most important things to remember, keeping all of your body still and not fiddling with hands, kicking under the table. Don't slouch down on the chair or the interviewer will think that you are not interested in being there and it will give you a small chance of getting the job or getting in to the college. When you are in an interview it is said that 93% is body language and the other 7% is actual words. so it is very important to make sure the candidate is paying attention and are being confident.
Once in the interview don't lose your words and carry on into a completely different story which has nothing to do with the interview, don't take gum in with you because the candidate will look unproffesional. DO NOT sit down until the interviewer says to. Shake them warmly by the hand if offered to, make it firm and strong. Turn off your mobile, because if it goes off in the interview the candidate will feel embarrassed. It wont look good in the interview if you answer it either. Place the bag you have under the table so it is clear for any papers the interviewer may want you to fill out.
The candidate needs to have a well presented CV, if the candidate doesn't, the interviewer will not be impressed. Also when your in the interview you should take notes of things they have said, offer a handshake on the way out. Do not forget to say thank you at the end of the interview, it always puts a little smile on the interviewers face or even make them think highly of you.
