Purpose of a portfolio

Purpose of a portfolio

A portfolio promotes your personality and your thoughts; it shows what level you are working on just by looking at the portfolio. The main purpose of a portfolio is to help you get in to an art school, or, maybe even a university. It shows your creative journey and personality- showing a person who you are through art, your thought and your interests all in one place, its like the interviewers will be reading you through a book of art. It has to be memorable, showing ideas that you have come up with yourself.    Make it different and something they may not have seen before,

A portfolio can help you go on to higher-level courses, the portfolio should be YOU. It shows your talent and skill towards art… When your taking in your portfolio it is like a small exhibition. A portfolio can help you through an interview and can show your passion through your work.

A portfolio needs to be a list of your ideas, like your making a visual diary about yourself, and make it like documentation. You have to show an  expression of your own ideas, It can also be a  record in what you have achieved. A organized portfolio can help you make more of an effort with the interview, and by making yourself look presentable you can be in a good chance with getting in to what you want to do. The clients will be looking for a well presented portfolio and thing in it that they think are interesting.
